Seriously, I think that you can inherit the team or buy it, should one come up for sale (not often, I don't think).

Have lots of money,bribe the other owners to let you in their exclusive owners circle,and then pick a general manager that knows which coach will be good for the team
Well, like most rich people, you inherit your fortune. Then you buy an NFL team if one is for sale for hundreds of millions or more. Like the Giants co-owner, Steve Tisch for example. His father Robert was a billionaire who built along with his brother quite a business called the Loews Corporation. Steve is the fortunate son.

Buy a team with lots of money and be nice to the politicians so that you may get a stadium at taxpayers expense.

$$$$$. Pick a city you want your team locate in, approval from nfl, approval from its city council, do your administrative stuff (personnel, players, logo, stadium etc.) There you're an owner. Then you'll find out if you're a successful / failing one from here on out.

But i'm sure it's alot more complex than what i've said.
If you dont have a billion dollars or so, there is no need to ask.
Either through your family or get super rich.
You would have to buy it although some do inherit them. It would be a pretty cool job to run a football team.
