I can't provide a link because it isn't an official stat in Football, but I'm pretty sure that the answer is Archie Manning.

Do they keep stats on wins and loses for a quarterback like they do for baseball pitchers?

I don't think they do, but I could be wrong.

Do you think the nfl needs to put restrictions on its players?

The whole PacMan situation and Tank johnson where they were caught with weapons or their "friends" were caught with weapons or doing illegal activity. And recently with the whole Sean Taylor incident which i completely understand he wanted to be with his family during a time where there might of been threats or something going on with his house..but i think he should of just taken his family to one of the redskins facilitys and i am sure snyder would of taken care of them...and then with charels grant at some club. what are your feelings about this?

Do you think the nfl needs to put restrictions on its players?college football

The NFL should put clauses in players contracts that if they do illegal activity that they get suspended or lose money. Well you have to keep in mind that whether they like it or not these are million dollar athletes! And they need to have higher security levels and body guards...i guess they have too much pride. Its sad seeing these players get killed and harmed, when it could easily be avoided.

Bunch of hoodlum gang bangers
no, the teams sponsors need to call the team and say we will not support you if you have those type of players on your team.

They should allow teams to have sponsors logos on their uniforms, then they would care more about who is wearing their symbol, and teams would be more selective.

i dont know. he does wear that ratty sweatshirt but he probably showers daily.
yes he is and he is also very lucky.
the commissioner stated yesterday that it was prevalent amongst coaches,

Parcells stated that if a coach doesn't protect his play calls he's an idiot,

and I have heard that Belichick can go for days w/o bathing
if u dont think bill belicheck is the dirtiest coach in the NFL, ur a crackhead.

the dirtiest guy in the NFL is the pittsburgh steelers guy tht sent porn to the commisioner
No

Al Davis is the worst owner in the NFL

Bill Belichick isn't a dirty coach, he's a very smart coach who lead his team to a perfect regular season, and he's on his way to a perfect regular and post season.
Bill Bellichick is NOT the dirtiest coach in the NFL, he was just unlucky %26amp; got caught. Can't say anything on Robert Kraft.
You look like you could use a shower, I bet you haven't had one in years. I can smell you on the internet, thats dirty.
I think he is a coach. That people love to hate. Unless he was the coach for there favorite team.
suck it up and get over it!!!!!!!!!!
im not sure what to think.

it sure appears that he is up there.

there probably is other coaches doing the same thing

and they just havent gotten caught yet.
Yeah...mos def. He wants to be hated, what a jackass. He can't even admit he was cheating - everytime he is asked about it, he says "Thats a league matter" and walks away real fast

Plus, he coaches another cry baby jackass in Randy Moss. He must've picked someting up
he is probably what you think of him...but that don't matter....i personally think that he is one of the best coaches in the league....who cares about spygate crap! they are not the only team that does it!!!! all of the teams do that and they know it! the pats just happened to get caught taping it. big whoop...bill is a great coach because he doesn't give in to pressure and could give a S*** less what people think of him.

there.

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?

How many teams from each division make it in, who plays who; and how many games are played before the superbowl.

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?nba street homecourt

The teams get seeded 1-6 based on records. The 1-4 seeds are division champs and the 5 and 6 teams are wild card teams.

On wild card weekend in both conferences, The 3 seed hosts the 6 seed and the 4 hosts the 5, even if the 5 seed has a better record. Both conference's top seeds get a bye. (4 games this weekend)

The next weekend, the Divisional Round, the 1 seed gets the lowest seed that advances (which could be 4, 5, or 6) and the 2 seed hosts the highest seed that advances (3, 4, or 5). (4 more games, bringing the total to 8)

In the Conference Championship round, the highest seed which advances hosts the lower seed to determine who plays in the Super Bowl. (2 games, bringing the total to 10. This is either a team's 2nd or 3rd game depending on the seed).

In the Super Bowl, the AFC and NFC Champions play at a neutral site to determine that season's champion. (The 11th game and a team's 3rd or 4th).

How does the NFL playoff schedule work?nba salary cap ,nba teams

The #3 and #6 teams play against each other in the Wild Card...

The #4 and #5 teams play against each other in the Wild Card...

The winner of each of those games play against The #1 or #2 teams in the Divisional Playoffs...The winner of those 2 games play against each other for either the NFC or AFC Championship game...The winner of the NFC and AFC will play against each other in the Superbowl...The top 2 teams in the League...
The play-offs games are made by seeds.

The #1 and #2 seed in the AFC and NFC get the wild card bye since they deserved it by getting a good record in regular season. Winner of divisions always make it in, even if they are 7-9, but they team would get the 4th seed, the 5th and 6th seeds play the 4th and 3rd seeds in the Wild Card weekend. 4th and 3rd are home. #1 and #2 also have to win their division. If one team is 12-4, but don't win their division, they cant be any top 4 seeds, and team say 11-5 and win their division fill their place.

1 or 2 teams make it in each division, it all depends on reg. season record. 4 games are played in Wild card, 4 in Divisional, 2 in Conference, and 1 in Super Bowl. So a grand total of 11 games are played in the play-offs. 12 if you count the Pro Bowl. Hope this Helps!
in todays setup you have 4 division champions in each confrence, the two best teams that are'nt a division champion will make a wildcard entry. the two division chanpions awarded the #1 and #2 seed(two best records in regular season)will have a bye(off)week. the remaining two division champions seeded #3,#4 will play on the first weekend of playoffs known as wildcard weekend.the wildcard team seeded #6 will play the #3 seeded team, the #5 seeded team will play the #4 seeded team.the winners in each confrence will advance to the divisional playoffs.this is thw second game(week) of playoffs the surviving teams keep their origional seed and the #1 seed plays the surviving team from wildcard weekend with the lowest seed.the #2 seed gets the other team(this happens in each confrence).the winners of this contest advance to their respective conference championship.home game to be decided by the highest seed.the winner then advances to the superbowl.so if you are a wildcard team, from getting tp the playoffs to winning it all you will have to endure a 4 game winning streak, the top 2 seeds in each confrence will only have to win 3. in short 4 division champs,2 wildcard teams for each confrence.
AFC and NFC division champions go against each other, the winner of the first game goes to the Conference Championship, and the winner of that goes to the Superbowl

Who will be the NFL Rookie of the years, and other effective rookies this season?

I think that the offensive Rookie of The year will be RB Brandon Jackson from the Green Bay Packers.

I think the Defensive ROY will be ILB Paul Posluszny from the Buffalo Bills.

I think Ted Ginn will have a huge ipact on special teams, not quite Hester numbers, but possibly pro-bowl returner stats, but there is no reward for that.

I also think Samson Satele will be the biggest impact of any rookie this year, but evident by Marcus McNeil last saeason, Offensive linemen do not get the OROY award, so it will go unnoticed, but he will be phenominal.

Who will be the NFL Rookie of the years, and other effective rookies this season?nba jerseys

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson WILL win Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is just so talented. He made J.T. O'Sullivan look good, for crying out loud!

Gaines Adams of the Tampa Bay Bucs will win Defensive Rookie of the Year. He's getting better and better through training camp and he looked great versus the Pats tonight. I can't wait to see him in mid-season form.

There are a bunch of rookies that will have an impact. Minnesota Vikings 1st round pick Adrian Peterson should have a 1000+ yard season. Patrick Willis, 49ers 1st rounder, should have a big year. He's the kind of impact linebacker they've been missing since Julian Peterson left. Lastly, Oakland Raiders 4th round pick Michael Bush should have a huge year. There isn't a real clear-cut starter in Oakland, so Bush should get a lot of action. If he gets back anywhere near the form he had at Louisville he will be great.

Who will be the NFL Rookie of the years, and other effective rookies this season?nba 2k8 ,nba teams

Anthony Spencer...Cowboys
I think rookie of the year will be TE Greg Olson, and some other effective rookie will be Adrian Peterson, Patric Willis, Marshawn Liynch, and a lot more. You might be right for defensive rookie of the year though.

If i have comcast for cable and Internet can i get NFL ticket via DirecTV without dropping comcast? Thank you?knicks

I ran into this problem years ago and I had to have Comcast for Internet and DTV for my NFL Ticket, but now you have options. Of course, you can still keep Comcast for internet and just drop your cable or you can drop all your Comcast and "bundle" your internet with several internet companies and home phone.

To get NFL Sunday Ticket you need to subscribe to one of DirecTV's packages. Of course, that means you have a decision: keep or drop Comcast cable TV.

Dropping Comcast TV means that some Comcast-only programming might not be on DirecTV. And you'll probably have to pay at least $10/mo extra for cable modem-only service.

With the Dophins, you will be able to buy at the gate. They are the NFLs worst team, and they are having difficulty selling tickets.

Bears might be a problem, they are pretty popular.

The best way would be to wait until the Bears play the Dolphins in Miami. Then go see that game.

The entire year's schedule is available at NFL.com. Just check it out, see what you would like. You can order tickets there also.
Why not try other teams....like the Raiders against the Broncos?.....dat would be a good game to go to.....If your going to buy tickets buy them in advance because most good seats sell out quick!....and it also depends where you want 2 sit.....dat will determine your ticket price....Go to any tema website and check out their ticket pricings.....here is the Raiders site if you'd like.....www.raiders.com
won't there be an NFL game in the UK this year? like last year's dolphins vs giants game? that could save you some dough in airfare.

Who Is The Best Running Back So Far In The NFL?

I think Peterson is. He ran for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns yesterday! Opinions?

Who Is The Best Running Back So Far In The NFL?nba playoffs

This year it's definitely Peterson. Though I still think LaDanian is right up there. Either way, they are both very entertaining to watch. We'll see how Peterson does in the years to come, if he can sustain this level. Then he will easily become the best back in the NFL. The Vikes are a pretty crappy team. So if he can make great runs with a bad team, like Barry Sanders was able to do with the horrible Lions, then his future is bright.

Barry Sanders is my all time favorite player to watch. He would have easily shattered the all time rushing record had he played with an even decent team or played as many years as Emmitt Smith, whom had one of the best offensive lines in his day.

Who Is The Best Running Back So Far In The NFL?nba basketball ,nba teams

Currently it's LT. The day Peterson had was a major outlier with regard to his mean and median performance.

In history I would take Jim Brown or Earl Campbell.
I totally agree! Adrian Peterson ALL THE WAY! :)
for the season westbrook he does everything run and catch then id say a close second is addai but peterson is def a strong runner and i think as the talent of the team rises he will to then he will become an elite like LT and the names above and a few others
in the NFL right now its LT and a suprisingly close second is AP

#2 jim brown

#3 earl campbell

#4 walter payton

#5 LT/marshall faulk
I wouldn't call a rookie the best RB in the NFL...but I think he has Rookie of the Year wrapped up...
Agree he's the one ?
ADRIAN PETERSON

hes got the rookie of the year locked up
You are freaking nuts. there is no way you can call a rookie the best ever. When he comes close to Barry Sanders in, let's say, TEN YEARS from now you, then, will be allowed to ask that question.
Well the best running back this season has been Joseph Addai. But I will give you Adrian Peterson as the hottest running back right now. No one can stop him but that will change. Reggie Bush and the Saints had a great year last year but when defenses adjusted they slowed them down.
i think so too.
peterson is carrying that team and may get so many yards that he gets the mvp. He has rookie of the year already they just have to put his name on the trophy and send it to him.
Peterson is off to an impressive start, but he has yet to show the consistency year-in and year-out that Tomlinson has.

All-time, I'd take Barry Sanders.
Adrian Peterson -- Broke an all time NFL record yesterday. And he's only a rookie!
Brian Westbrook. The man is carrying the Eagles.
I would say that he is CURRENTLY the best in the NFL.

Let's see what he does down the road aways before you start shining up the bust for Canton!

Why doesn't the NFL have a better union for injured and retired players?

Re: Eric Dickerson interview. Can something be done by football fans?

Why doesn't the NFL have a better union for injured and retired players?basketball tickets

It is very sad to see. I have read stories of dozens, if not hundreds, of former NFL players who are now seriously suffering from physical injuries sustained during their playing careers, many whom are broke and disabled. Active players are required to contribute an average of $82,000 to the retired players fund in order to help out their predecessors, but it seems that is not nearly enough.

At recent congressional hearings, lawmakers heard that only 317 retired players have been approved for and receive disability benefits, totaling approximately $20 million a year. While that sounds like a lot of money, that averages out to a more modest $63,000 per disabled player per year. A Senate subcommittee is scheduled to hold another hearing Sept. 18.

Another problem is that full pension payouts begin at age 55, which coincidentally is the life expectancy of an NFL player, a full 20 years less than an average male.

The owners, teams and player's association has to do more to help its former players out. There is so much money being made in the sport and yet once these guys are unable to make a block or return a punt, the league abandons and forgets about them. It's a real shame.

Why doesn't the NFL have a better union for injured and retired players?nba warriors ,nba teams

You would think that they would be smart enough to save their money while they had it instead of blowing it on cocaine and monstrous houses. Furthermore why should we the fans do anything about it? Sorry but I got bills to pay too it's not my fault some stupid sweatmonger was too god damn dumb with his money to put some in a bank and decided to buy bling bling instead.
The Union sucks because it is just that, a Union. They look out for themselves. Since those guys were never PART of the Union it is hard to get the Union to listen to them.
no kiddin I'm with above. they already get too much money cause hundreds of people think it's important pay them to toss around a ball

Maybe they should invest thier paychecks in better health insurance themelves instead of gold chains and cocaine.

What about when I get injured? I got nothin
they are paid an ungodly amount of money while they play, so what now, they need a pension?
The 2 people above are wrong. The people in most need of a pension, or help in general, played years back when they didnt get paid a half million to ride the bench. It is rediculous that they don't have a better union. Some of them can't even walk. Think about it, a player 20 years ago getting a million bucks was unheard of, but surgery and medication needed for them today has to cost a ton. Ive paid 250 bucks to see a doctor cause I felt sick, these guys are going to a doc to see if they'll be able to walk again.
Why don't the players have better sense? Didn't their mamas teach them to save a percentage out of each check?

Most of them now could be millionaires if they just would save or invest their millions while still playing. Maybe if they didn't want so damn much money to play, there would be money in a fund just for them. Don't get me wrong now, I love the game of football, I just don't think they should get paid more for 1 game that I can make in 10 years.
first of all its an assoiation not a union,i think they do just fine.if they blow all their money why should the fans feel like we owe them.they have a pension plan. how many fans have a pension plan ? after 3 yrs they are vested.
even the guys from the old days hadcollegedegrees and had jobs after their playing days were over most play in the nfl less than 5 years.what did they do after they lefy the nfl?did they not have insurance from their real jobs?social security?and the players from the 70's till present went on strike several times demanding more money and free agency NOT a better pension plan.in other wordsa they sold out their future for money and then blew that money and now that the future is here they want to blame evryone else but themselves.if they want to redo the pension make it for everyone who is playing now and not the playeres from the past.the old players are responsible for their own mess because they didnt look ahead to the future and plan for it like the rest of the world has to do.
no.
when thy went on strike a few years ago guy like joe montana cross the picket line and broke the union Yell thy still have one but it worthless I work for the steel worker union and thy support us better then the player union baseball ans basketball have a much better union
These guys make allot of money. They should have enough sense to take care of them selves and get some good insurance. They also should invest well so they don't run out of money. I can not feel sorry for some one that has everything then blows it on stupid stuff.

Who is the best NFL kicker of all time and who scored the most points ?

Who is the best and most sucesful NFL kicker of all time and who scored the most points ? Is it Gary Anderson or Adam Vinaterri. Where is Gary Anderson from ? When did Gary Andersons football carreer end? Anyone know if the old South African rugby flyhalf Naas Botha ever suceeded in being the kicker for the Dallas Cowboys back in the 80's What ever happened to him?

http://www.safrica.info/ess_info/sa_glan...

Who is the best NFL kicker of all time and who scored the most points ?nba hall of fame

i think Mike Vanderjagt is the best/most accurate kicker...

Vanderjagt has the highest field goal accuracy rate in NFL history (217-of-245 kicks, 87.5 percent) and holds the record for making 42 straight.

In the pre-professional era that Botha played in, being paid to play rugby was always a controversial subject. Despite being handsomely paid "under the table", Botha was of the opinion that he could earn more in professional sport and thus he travelled to the United States in 1983 on the invitation of the American Football team the Dallas Cowboys in order to try out as a placekicker. This move was not successful, however, and he returned to South Africa to continue his Rugby career.

Gary Anderson (born July 16, 1959 in Parys, Orange Free State, South Africa) is currently the NFL's career points scoring leader. He is also the first NFL kicker to have a "perfect season" successfully making every field goal and every PAT during regular season play.

After graduating from Syracuse University. He was drafted as a placekicker by the Buffalo Bills in 1982 but was cut before the season began. He then signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent the following 12 seasons in Pittsburgh.

For the 1995 season, Anderson signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. Anderson spent the 1997 season as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. Then, in 1998, Anderson signed with the Minnesota Vikings and converted all 35 of his attempted field goals and all 59 extra points in regular season play. However after making all of his field goal and points after touchdowns during the entire season, he missed a crucial kick in the 4th quarter against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.

Anderson stayed with the Vikings until the 2003 season, when he joined the Tennessee Titans out of retirement as a replacement for the injured Joe Nedney after the first game of the season. After that season, Anderson again retired and turned down offers from several teams to come kick for them. When Nedney went down with another season-ending injury after the start of the 2004 season, Anderson again agreed to unretire for the Titans.

Anderson currently resides in Canmore, Alberta, Canada and operates a fly fishing charter business called Perfect Season.

Good Luck!!!
I don't think there will be any...I don't think Green Bay will lose to the Bears...*L*...That's nuts...The Bears are still trying to find a QB other than Rex...
My upset will be Cleveland over NE. NE has beaten team with a combined record of 4-12. This will be NE's biggest challenge yet and I will be they will not be expecting it because they have not been challenged in the slightest yet.
Get ready Patriot fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Browns are going to shock the Pats at home.
A team theat makes the Super Bowl and loses 3 out of 4 is a fluke team. Bears will get whooped. Favre is looking like the old Favre again. Don't be surprised to see Green Bay take a serious run at the SuperBowl.
Buffalo Bills spank the Dallas cowgirls with their new QB at the helm!! WOO HOO!! :)

But all that aside, I don't think that Greenbay can beat the Bears, that's a rivalry match up and I think the Bears will pull out a victory over Favre and his boys for sure!
Chicago will beat Green Bay. Green Bay has only won by a touchdown in most games, and the Bears are bound to get Cedric Benson going. Watch Benson's solid outing open up the passing game a bit and cut down on Griese's mistakes.

St. Louis over Arizona - St. Louis will be without Bulger, Bruce and Steven Jackson, but Frerrotte, Leonard, and Drew Bennett will give the Cardinals a new look. Edgerrin James will be solid, but the rotating QB's will falter
indy will lose and green bay will win
I think Green bay will beat Chicago and the big upset will be Buffalo will upset the Dallas crybabies because Dallas will take the Bills lightly.Go Buffalo
I dont excpect any big upstes this week. But Green Bay will beat the Bears.
To be honest I truly believe that the bears are going to beat the Packers.

What is the diffeernce between college football and nfl?

i know this sound stupid, but what exactly is the difference. i know players are much bigger and faster, but how exactly is it different, it still has the same rule and plays. I dont understand how somecollegefootball player end up being so bad in nfl. I also dont unerstand the concept of reading defense in nfl, dont they do that in college

What is the diffeernce betweencollegefootball and nfl?nba mvp

When you go from high school to College you are playing against the best of the best. When you go from College to the NFL,you are playing against the best of the best of the best.

What is the diffeernce betweencollegefootball and nfl?nba trades ,nba teams

there are some differences in the rules. like in college, they dont have the 2 minute warning, they stop the clock when you get the first down in the last 2 minutes and start the clock again when the chains are reset. incollegeyou only need 1 foot down for a catch opposed to 2 in the nfl.

in the nfl, you have the best of the best at each position. each player in the nfl had to be good incollegeto make it to the nfl. in college, you just have HS kids. mostcollegekids dont even make it to the nfl. so you now know why they call it the pros, not just anyone can make it, you have to be great incollegeto do so. and since the talent and football IQ is so much greater in the NFL, they come up with exotic defenses and blitz so it would be hard for a young rookie QB to read them. peyton manning wasnt that great when he was a rookie but as he got more experience, the better he became.
Millions of dollars $$$$$$$$
on top of that, the generalization is thatcollegeplayers are more successful due to their athletic talent and the system in which they play.

contrastingly, the nfl is full of these high caliber players with awesome talent, with few even more freakish than others in speed, athleticism, talent. however, in the nfl, you have to play smart, too, and not simply rely on your athleticsm. that's why you don' t see as high a frequency of high scoring offenses in the nfl as opposed to in ncaa.

manycollegeplayers who have successful careers incollegefail to continue pushing themselves and developing into more complete players (best example: ryan leaf, tim couch) and they fail in the nfl ranks. look at peyton manning, he wasn' the best in college, but his work ethic has propelled him into elite status.
difference is how they get paid. NFL players get paychecks that get taxed. NCAA players get paid in cash.
in collge you don't have to be touched to be down. In the nfl you must be down by contact

in nfl you need BOTH feet in to catch a pass incollegeit's just one
Talent!!!
The game is essentially the same. There are some minor differences in the rules, like incollegefootball you only need 1 foot inbounds to make a catch, in the NFL you both feet in. Incollegefootball the clock stops while the markers move when a team gets first down. There are just some small rule differences like that... nothing big.

The biggest difference is strategy, b/c the players are all bigger, faster, and stronger.

For example, incollegefootball there has been a recent trade towards more mobile QBs running the ball a lot more. But the NFL has not, and probably will not, move in that direction to the same extent because of the fast and strong defensive players that could injure a QB.

So, the difference is mainly based on the difference in quality of players (mainly the defensive players), which is why some offensive players incollegefootball suffer when they get to face the defenses of NFL teams.

Hardly ever does a defensivecollegestar struggle in the NFL... think about it.

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?

1. there are way to many rounds

2. in other sports the rookies drafted in the top ten usually play the next year for their teams.

3. in baseball you dont hear about those guys again for an average of four years or so

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?nhl

I think it's because a lot of these guys will never play an inning of major league baseball. In the NFL and the NBA you're being drafted to play for that team, especially the higher round picks are pretty much guaranteed a spot on their professional roster. In baseball these guys are drafted by a team to play in their minor league system. Some of these guys are known for those fans that followcollegebaseball, but then there's also kids coming out of high school that nobody knows a thing about. Not to mention a lot of these guys may not even be with the team that drafted them because of how often players are moved around in trades for big name veterans. I wish it were as big as the NBA and NFL draft, but the fact of the matter is it will never be as big as either of them.

How come the MLB draft isnt as well publicized as the NBA and NFL drafts?nba street homecourt ,nba teams

I didnt read through all the replies, so if someone else gave this answer, kudos to them.

I never realized this, but last year while reading a book about baseball, it made a great point that baseball players seem to hit their prime after 25, and usually are not going to be immediate impact players the moment they come out of college.

Plus, the differences in thecollegegame versus the professional game make it somewhat prohibitive for a player to make the immediate jump.

As the comparison was made, you have an impact player incollegeand football, and their games are so similar, you can have an Adrian Peterson come out and make an immediate impact in the NFL or a LeBron James make an immediate impact in the NBA.

But, because of the different fields, different concentrations on teachins incollegebaseball, the aluminum bats, pitchers who dont have the speed or control as the professional level players, there are few players who have ever been successful making the immediate jump fromcollegeto the MLB!
I think that it's because odds are that first-round MLB draft picks are going to go straight to the minor leagues. Very rarely do they make an immediate impact on a major league roster. Typically, it takes them roughly 3-5 years before they make it to the show if they make it at all. In the NBA and NFL both, the drafts from rounds 1-4 will be playing for their respective team that season.
Due to the fact of the caliber of players in the Draft. It is very rare that a MLB Draftee starts the following season and makes an impact like in the other sports. As someone above stated they would spend a few years in the minors prior to being called up. The draft is usuallycollegegrads. So they have to do something aftercollegeball. Most teams have players locked up right out of high school some as young as 13 years old, usually those are the south americans. The MLB Draft is not a big deal when you can sign someone out of high school and put them straight into your farm system when they graduate high school or college. Hope this helps!
I think it's because thecollegebaseball game isn't as hyped. Most of these players don't see MLB action till 3-5 years down the road, and rarely is there an instant stud who gets brought up out of a draft. MLB draft picks make their names down the road so people don't really care to see who gets picked where when it happens, its just something to look at if they ever become successful.
NBA/NFL draftees for the most part have a pretty quick impact. MLB, the player has to go to the minors. And in today's day and age top prospects usually get traded by the time they hit the bigs. They are good pawns for big name players.
baseball isn't as popular as football and basketball. Who really watchescollegebaseball? At least with the NBA and NFL you are watching the athletes incollegeand they become somewhat household names...
1. There are a lot more rounds.

and

2. Most of the players taken are from high school orcollegeand they are less known thancollegebasketball or football players.
Because most of em spend a few years in the minors while NFL and NBA go right to the majors.
Because their is so many rounds!

Mlb.com will be showing all the rounds

and espn2 shows round 1....major league baseball has 50 rounds!
because nobody knows them and almost all spend 3 to 4 years in the minors before making the bigs...if they ever do.
There is no guarantee any of them will ever make the bigs
nobody knows the players...
way too many teams and rounds and players involved

There are a ton of white "running backs," because many of the fullbacks in the NFL are white. I wondered this myself after watching LSU's Jacob Hester run this year, but he's so tough he'll probably be a fullback in the NFL too. Tailbacks, however, have almost exclusively been African-American for several decades.

As for "great," Mike Alstot was a perennial Pro Bowl player.

What position should i play in NFL football?

I am 5'9 and weigh 170. I am 15 years old and i am your average runner and i can tackle pretty hard. I am also good at blocking

What position should i play in NFL football?nba draft order

If you can catch, then Tight End. If you can't catch, then Linebacker.

What position should i play in NFL football?nba draft history ,nba teams

Who ever siad you are going to the NFL??
tight end
middle linebacker
You should play safety because of your abilities of tackling and running.
I'd say you would be an offensive lineman, my dad was the exact same height and weight, and played offensive lineman
inside linebacker, 5'10" 160.
no offense ...but u wouldn't make it to the the NFL
I agree with JA, what makes you think you are going to the NFL. First you have to play high school football at an elite level and the coach will tell you what position he wants you to play. Sounds like you have a couple more years of HS, so at your size you can probably play just about any position except on the line. If you are lucky you will be able to play at thecollegelevel one day, don't even think about the NFL yet dude.
Something on special teams or a linebacker prone to coverage. oh yeah and start with making your high school team before you even start to think NFL
O-tackle is a pretty good position for someone that can really move and block. LB if you can make a sure enough tackle. Just make sure you can break away from blockers and won't be run over by a nice big FB
if you are fast... Cornerback.

if not... Linebacker.
if you can hit as good as you say then safety.
i am probably gonna have to say linebacker, only because there you can truly utilize you running and tackling. however, fullback, is another good pick in my opinion,. a fb has to block, and can be asked to run the ball or catch a pass and gain some nice yardage, meaning if you Can run that is an added bonus
You are probably still growing, but you could play cornerback. And if you put on 20 pounds before u graduate, strong safety for sure if you can hit and cover decient (mainly tight ends).
If I were you I would probably play devensive end, corner back, or tight end.

Why does the NFL Hall of Fame induct only 6 players?

Won't inducting more players make more sense and stop all the arguements about who and who shouldn't make the Hall of Fame?

Why does the NFL Hall of Fame induct only 6 players?

They don't induct only 6. They induct between 4 and 6. Recently, the class has been full, with people still saying that this person or that person was left out yet again, ART MONK.

They had to pick a number, and a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 is what they go with.

They go to Points for, then points against... and so on
They have different tie-breakers.

They would go to best conference record, if still tied they would use other tie-breakers such as most points scored, least points allowed, if all those are the same, they would go to a coin toss.
It would't happen. If they were in the same division thy would play eachother. And someone will lose. Read question wrong. My bad

What are the salary averages for the NBA, MLB, and NFL?

What are the salary averages for the NBA, MLB, and NFL?nba tickets

The average NBA player salary is $3.7 million; Kevin Garnett is the highest paid at $28 million this season.

The average salary shot up 9 percent this year to $2,699,292, according to final figures released Wednesday by the Major League Baseball Players Association. The increase was the highest since a 12.8 percent rise in 2001 and makes it likely the $3 million mark will be broken next year or in 2008.

Despite some de-emphasis of the position, quarterbacks still lead the NFL salary parade, with all quarterbacks averaging $1.713 million in compensation for 2001 and starters averaging $3.919 million. Here is a look at the averages, by position, according to NFL Players Association salary

When does Maurice Clarett get out of prison and where do you think he will resume his NFL career?

I think that wherever he goes, he will immediately start.

When does Maurice Clarett get out of prison and where do you think he will resume his NFL career?nba playoffs 2007

Well, come September, he will still have at least another year and a half in prison. So even if there was a team willing to give him a chance, 2 more seasons would pass before that could happen.

If the Vick thing never happened, I might say that Clarett would have a small chance of getting a tryout. In today's NFL, he has zero chance of getting a tryout.

He would probably get some tryouts on arena teams, or maybe even in Canada....but my best guess is that his football career is dead and his life full of dead end jobs will soon begin.

Also, I am hoping that is sarcasm about him starting immediately...it has to be.

Most owners buy the team. Some however inherit it, so both.

Some get an expansion team(new team).

How do you become an NFL team owner?nba score ,nba teams

Have A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT OF $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... :)

Seriously, I think that you can inherit the team or buy it, should one come up for sale (not often, I don't think).
go to sleep late, get up early and strike oil!
Have lots of money, bribe the other owners to let you in their exclusive owners circle, and then pick a general manager that knows which coach will be good for the team
Well, like most rich people, you inherit your fortune. Then you buy an NFL team if one is for sale for hundreds of millions or more. Like the Giants co-owner, Steve Tisch for example. His father Robert was a billionaire who built along with his brother quite a business called the Loews Corporation. Steve is the fortunate son.
curiosity killed the cat
both
Buy a team with lots of money and be nice to the politicians so that you may get a stadium at taxpayers expense.
Purchase an NFL team.
Luck and money!
Having a billion dollars is the biggest prerequesite
Be a billionaire
$$$$$. Pick a city you want your team locate in, approval from nfl, approval from its city council, do your administrative stuff (personnel, players, logo, stadium etc.) There you're an owner. Then you'll find out if you're a successful / failing one from here on out.

But i'm sure it's alot more complex than what i've said.
If you dont have a billion dollars or so, there is no need to ask.
Either through your family or get super rich.
You would have to buy it although some do inherit them. It would be a pretty cool job to run a football team.

This one was not really tough, i believe Wes Welker for NE is underrated, and Antrelle Rolle for Arizona also fits that mold.

I'd say

Defense: Micheal Boley

Can you name the most underrated offense(skill position) and Defensive players in the NFL?nba dunks ,nba teams

I think Joey Galloway is the most underrated on the offensive side of the ball, Really helping the Bucs out with his speed and agility.

On the defensive side of the ball I think you were right. Antrel Rolle did very good without a single mention on ESPN as far as making his great plays went. He had 5 interceptions returning 3 of them for touchdowns. He lost his starting spot so he announced in February that he will be playing Free Safety this season. Meaning more interceptions.
I would say offensively Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Browns because they are actually considering Brady Quinn over him and Brady Quinn will not do well in the NFL, and defensively I would say Kevin Williams of the Minnesota Vikings, he's been to 3 pro bowls and part of the #1 rush defensive line two years in a row, have you heard of Kevin Williams? Hey you live in Iowa? I live in Des Moines by the way, do you live near there?

Can you tell me the first player to wear a helmet visor in the NFL?nba 08 ,nba teams

no
I remember Mark Mullaney (Vikings) wearing one in the early 80's after an eye injury. Not sure if he was the first or not.
Im not sure, but in 1984, former 49er equipment manager Bronco Hinek made a visor out of clear plastic and tied it to the facemask with zip ties for RT Keith Fahnhorst after Fahnhorst got a finger in the eye. Back then, they were not commercially available.
The frist one I remember using a helmet visor was Jim McMahon of the Chicago Bears in the mid 80's (1985 I think)

I also remember being a write up a few weeks/months later in Sports Illustrated where the coloumnist (I think it may have been Peter King) was comparing him (and other players who used visors) to looking like Darth Vader

Yes it would be so much better and the offseason would not be this long.

Would you like to see the regular NFL season extended to 20 games?nba players ,nba teams

Yes and No.

Yes becuase that would be cool to see your favorite team for four more games that actually count toward your quest for the playoffs and superbowl.

No, because it would make each game less meaningful, because it gives more games for teams to make up for a loss, and the players are already fatiguing at younger ages now a days, it would just have more wear and tear on their bodies. So in all honesty, They should just keep it the way it is.
NO. There is only so much wear and tear that any football player can take and the 16 games now leads to breakdowns in their bodies by the end of the season. It may be great for spectators but it would be awful for the players, not to mention that they would have a shorter off season to boot.
My heart says yes, but my head says no way in hell. First of all, forget all the damage I do to myself during football season...Sunday, ALL Day...Monday Night...then they start the Thursday thing around Thanksgiving...man my liver hurts just thinking about it! But enough about how I can't say no around the season to a plate of hot wings or chips...MAN I WANT THE SEASON!!! Anyway, the players could never be asked to hold up to 25 weeks or more of such a physical game to win a title at some point in there we would lose the quality of the game...due to all the injuries. It's best the way it is...boy I really miss football.
i would not. I am a fan of the buffalo bills we led the leauge with injuries and with more games more people would have gotten hurt probally plus that means more money 4 tickets also more money 2 pay players and i just dont think the players have it in them
It's not a bad idea. I guess they would have to have schedule 2 scrimmage games per team and void pre-season games altogether in order to do it.

Fans would get 10 home games and get to see more teams from the NFL on a regular basis.
No. It would make each game less meaningful. I actually liked the 14 game seasons better.
No because then the NFL Season would carry into the spring and Football Is A Winter Sport.
The cowboys will have a 20 game season this year

What is wat looks to be a green sticker on the back of NFL quarterbacks helmets?

I saw Rex Grosman and Donovan McNabb with one i think.

What is wat looks to be a green sticker on the back of NFL quarterbacks helmets?lakers

it is a helmet with a headset, this is because last year when teams would score a touchdown, the starters would hold the point after. with the radio transmission, the coaches in the press box could/would have the quarterback call a fake play or audible at the line of scrimmage. so this year if a quarterback is holding a field goal/pat they cant be wearing a helmet with a green sticker

What is wat looks to be a green sticker on the back of NFL quarterbacks helmets?nba merchandise ,nba teams

That is the helmet that has the communications equipment in it.
The green sticker indicates that it's a quarterback's helmet, which has a mike and receiver inside of it so the quarterback can talk to the coach while still on the field. Only one of these helmets are allowed on the field during the game.

Should college football players have to wait three years to go into the NFL?

The NBA only makes the players go for one year. Is this fair?

Shouldcollegefootball players have to wait three years to go into the NFL?nba teams

I think the NBA should make the players wait three years as well. They should go tocollegefor school, not for basketball.

In the NFL, it's needed much more, since players will need to develop more physically and become tougher. It's for their own good.

The NBA doesn't need it as badly (LeBron, Kobe, Garnett), but i personally think they should be incollegemore, because not everybody will turn out like they have.

Shouldcollegefootball players have to wait three years to go into the NFL?nba playoff bracket ,nba teams

you can't compare the NBA to the NFL. I feel differently about both.

NFL, you should have 3 years, because very rarely will a player be ready after 2 years. and if they have the option, they will sometimes try to go early and maybe ruin their career.

the 1 year rule for NBA is foolish, it doesn't do well for the teams that get that player for one year, and its not like they are invested incollegeanyways. they should either skip college, or be commited tocollegefor 3 years. anything inbetween is not fair to thecollegeteams. (I heard this from Bob Knight) if they can play at that level, then they should go play.
you have to be out of high school for three years to enter the NFL
Perhaps, the NFL is hoping to create a group of young men sufficiently educated to take care of themselves at the end of what is typically a very short professional career.
If players were smart they would finish college. If they get hurt early in their professional career, they have nothing to fall back on. Get educated first, even if they don't need it.
Players are not physically ready to play foorball at the NFL level that early. In the NBA players are often ready earlier than they are for the NFL.
I think 3 years should be great before that would be to early and they will get murdered in that level.
NO!!!!!!!!! The nba is unfair!!!!!!!
If it were up to me I would do the following for all team sports.

Must be 20 yrs of age.

If they have a scholarship and leavecollegeto turn pro they must give to thecollegethe face value of the scholarship within one year. This money would go into the academic scholarship fund.

Without being a homer, what 5 NFL teams do you think have the best legacy?

By legacy I mean a mixture of Super bowl wins or losses, a tradition of winning in the regular season and hall of fame players and coaches. I would have to say in no order the Steelers, the Cowboys, the 49ers, the Packers and the Patriots. I am a Broncos fan and once the Cutler era is over they will take one of those teams places.

Without being a homer, what 5 NFL teams do you think have the best legacy?basketball

First of all, I think you need to consider the pre-Super Bowl era as well. Nobody has been as consistently competitive throughout their history as the Cowboys, so they are the number 1 team regarding legacy. Then I would choose the Bears because of the high number of Hall of Fame players they've had over the years and their consistent success in the playoffs. I would also choose the Colts because they've generally been one of the league's most consistent competitors aside from stinking during the 80s. The Packers are another team I'd choose although people need to realize how hot and cold they've been throughout their history; they were really pretty dreadful in the 50s, 70s, and 80s. I'm almost tempted to pick the Browns next because they were such a terror through the 50s and 60s, and even though they've never made it to a Super Bowl, they've generally been competitive for most of their history. Instead, however, I think I should choose the Steelers. They barely qualify though because for the first half of their 75-year history, they were the league's laughing stock. Nonetheless their amazing performance over the last 35 years makes up for that.

2-49ers

3-steelers

4-packers

5- patriots if they keep doing what theyve done
I'd have to agree with your top 5, but the Bears would be my 6th team simply because of their teams tradition and the coaches and players who have been with the Bears.
certainly not the cheatriots.
Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers because they have 5 Super Bowls each

Bears and Packers because they have more HOFers and championships (Super Bowls and old NFL championships combined) than anybody else.

The Pats have only 3 HOFers (there will be 5 with Brady and Belichick) and did not really show up until 2001. Before that, their 2 SB appearances were disasters.

They have one of the Greatest QB's ever in Otto Graham (on the 75 Anniversary team) and two of the greates running backs of all-time in Jim Brown and Marion Motley. How about another HOF running back in Leroy Kelley.

2. Green Bay Packers (They don't call it Title Town for nothin.) From Bart Starr to Brett Favre - the Packers have been great - 6 Championships. Plus Don Hutson was perhaps the greatest wide receiver of all-time.

3. Chicago Bears - From the Monsters of the Midway to the 85 Chicago Bears - 6 Championships in 15 years plus possibly the best team ever in 85.

4. San Francisco 49ers - They were unbelievable from 1981 until the mid 1990s. Two HOF quarterbacks, and possibly the best receiver of all-time in Jerry Rice.

5. Dallas Cowboys - 5 Super Bowl wins and a couple of close losses to the Steelers. Roger Staubach was one of the greatest ever. Two HOF running backs (once Smith is eligable).

Teams on the verge - Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots.

The Pats got a good LB from the VOLS and they got an additional 3rd round in the process. I think they did pretty well with that.

Some people wonder about their late round pick of a qb but i actually think that might make sense, because cassel might not be the best backup for brady and if they can get Guteriz(sp) as number 2 and this kid at number 3 they might be better off.

They got a late round corner who might work out as a backup down the road, and a late round reciever that might get some work on special teams. They also picked up another late round special teamer.

I look at the Pats at this point compared to last season:

1. QB - Same brady obviously but they might get better backups.

2. RBs - Better because Morris is back with maroney and him as a two back combo.

3. Recievers - Still pretty good. Losing stallworth to me isnt as big of a deal because Gaffney came on later in the year.

4. OL - About the same and they were good up till the superbowl when they couldn't get it together.

5. DLine - they look about the same, their pretty good here.

6. LB's - They have improved here a bit. They could end up with colvin back, but at this point i dont think they need him.

7. Secondary - They should be about the same this year. They lost samuel, and thats not good but they gained some other players and got a good coach for the secondary in capers.

8. Special Teams - I think they have made huge improvements here.

The Pats should have another big year. THis time they should WIN the superbowl. I am not predicting undefeated again, but looking at their schedule, its hard to see them losing more than one or two games.
I like the picks that Denver made. Especially in the first 2 rounds. Ryan Clady is a beast and should be a great pro. Damn....now he's playing for my Broncos, I should have had him sign something when he was playing at BSU for the last few years....LOL

Denver addressed a lot of needs in this draft. Hopefully Clady will hit the ground running, and Eddie Royal can add a spark to the return game.
the steelers had the best draft fo sho. mendenhall was one of the best backs in the draft, sweed was one of the best receivers, and dixon is just a great all around athlete that the steelers will probly turn into a slot or flank receiver like they did with randel-el and ward. im callin steelers vs. cowboys superbowl just like the good old days
Seahawks got exactly what they needed in the draft, and all of their picks will get significant playing time this year except the 7th rounders.

They filled their needs at DT, DE, FB, LS, TE. That was big for them, and they are ready for another run at the Superbowl this year. Win one for the Walrus!
im a little bit surprised that the bucs took a cornerback instead of a wide receiver, but after hearing jon gruden's thoughts, i can understand why they chose talib from kansas
i would have liedk if we used it on our 1st pick on thomas ( PHILADELPHIA EAGLES)
I love my picks, dont think we were the strongest but i dont think we hurt ourselves in any way.. probably helped.. go cowboys!!
Ehh the Bears did ok, but we still didnt address out need at QB. But did bulk up our offensive line. The cheifs or Cowboys did the best
Im a pats fan and I think we did pretty good....bill got what we needed to help the team and i honestly don't doubt any desicion that he makes at all. Hell teach the newbies well
i would give the jets a B-
B or B+. I'd have said A if we didn't draft Colt ******* Brennan.
My NY Jets had an awsome draft, I wouldn't change a thing.

What NFL team do you think has the least loyal fans?

And comment as to why!

What NFL team do you think has the least loyal fans?nba 07

Patriots, no im just kidding, i think all teams have their share.

What NFL team do you think has the least loyal fans?sports tickets ,nba teams

The Patriots by far. Where were these fans 10 years ago when they were garbage. I'm a KC Chiefs fan, and Arrowhead has always been packed with Chief fans whether they are winning or not. Go Chiefs, screw the Pats. Report It

Greenbay Packers have the most loyal fans ever. They have people on the waiting list for season tickets. Some people will be on the list for more then 20 years. GO GREENBAY Report It

Cincinnati, no question. I live here in Cincy, and let me tell you, the fans are the absolute worst kind you can have. They are all pathetic bandwagoners who can name 5 players on the team not named Chad Johnson or Carson Palmer. It's ridiculous. They all wear their Bengals jerseys at school on Monday, after a victory, not Friday before they play. After the Bengals started not totally sucking all these Cincinnati people starting becoming "die hard" Bengals fan for a couple of years, and now that the Bengals are 2-5 this year, and already the Bengals fans are starting to crawl back into their holes. I'm sure it's not coincidence that I've seen more and more Patriots jerseys around my school.
Cowboys fans. That team has been bad for 10 years and you never heard a peep from any so called fan. They make the playoffs last year and all of a sudden "lifetime Cowboys fans" come out of the woodwork.

Pats fans are #2. Most will be gone with their next non-playoff year.

Colts fans are #3. Never heard of many Colts fans (after they left Baltimore) until recently, now they are everywhere.

Most Loyal fans are Browns, Packers, and Steelers fans.
I have to disagree with what the dude said about the Raiders fans being the least loyal fans. The Raiders fans I know will talk about how the Raiders are the best team in the NFL when they've only won one game.

I'm a Seahawks fan and I live in Washington. When we had our best season in 2005, after we made the playoffs a lot of fans were telling me "We'll choke in either the NFC Championship or the Superbowl."

Sure, we choked in the Superbowl, but that shows that a lot of the fans here don't have the faith in them that I have. I keep telling people that we'll win our division, but nobody was believing me after that Saints game.
Philly - they boo at anything instread of cheering their team on and making something out of home-field advantage.
Arizona Cardinals, and the reason is that they have moved from city to city so their history in Arizona has been a recent one, plus the fans may not be sure the team will be there permanent

Contrary to what that green helmet claims, the Dallas Cowboys might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive games in front of sold out stadiums. The streak of 160 sold-out regular and post-season games began in 1990, and included 79 straight sellouts at Texas Stadium and 81 straight sell-outs on the road.
Kansas City and Houston. I always notice the stadiums are half empty when there's still over a quarter to play. It just happened a couple of weeks ago when the Texans were playing the Titans.
I live in San Diego (am a packers fan), and when the fans were chanting Marty after 2-3 losses, that 'to me' put their loyalty in question.
Patriots.....5 seasons from now they will be giving away tickets to come see the Pats play.
If you have ever been to Ca. you know that it is the Raiders. You have two distinct group of Raider fans. You have a very small group of absolute die hard to their grave fans. Then you have everyone else. When they went the superbowl in 2002, there were people standing in the middle of I880 (a six lane freeway) waving Raider flags. Every car and truck in central ca. had a Raider flag/sticker. A short five years later their fan base has dwindled down to the very few faithful.
Colts, Last year in the first round of the Playoffs. Thousands of Chiefs fans showed up and were pretty loud in the RCA Dome. Tickets for a playoff game were readily available. I could not believe that their fans did not even show for a playoff game.

WooCee Did you hear Manning Comments after that game. He pleaded with Colts fans to use there tickets for the next game in the playoffs. He had to beg your fans not to sell your tickets to the Playoff game like they did for Kansas City. Those were your own QB's words so he must have noticed the presence of True fans in his Dome, since he is normally not used to loud fans in his Dome.

I bought my tickets off ebay for $5 below face value, for a playoff game. from your loyal fans.
Patriot fans are only loyal when the teams brings home trophies. I say that because I live in KY but I work with a guy from Boston. HUGE Pats/Red Sox fan. He didn't see the AFC Champ game because he was working. I called him at work when it was over and told him how the game played out. This guy actually said, "Brady's through! It's time to get rid of the bastard!" He wasn't joking! He was pissed. I heard a Patriot fan on a talk radio show after that game ended and he said something similar. Geez! These people are nuts! Maybe instead of calling them unloyal you could just call them a bunch of spoiled babies! Loyal fans stick with their teams through the good, bad, and the ugly! Patriot fans don't do that. It's good or nothing with those guys.
rams
it is hard to say. i mean, there were the fans in L.A, but the 2 NFL teams they had left them. so that leaves L.A out. it's truly hard to say, but i would have to say the vikings fans just because of all the rumors i have been hearing of them leaving. their fans have been embarrased for many years, just cannot win the big game. now it's like they just don't care anymore.
I'd have to say the Falcons. Why base your team on one guy and bail when he's out? True fans stick through it. No matter how painful it is.

I don't agree with the Eagles thing. What's wrong with being critical with your team when you think they could do better? What else do expect from a city hungry for a trophy? Go to Lincoln Financial Field and see how passionate they are!!!
The Saints, i mean those paper bags speak for themselves.
Jacksonville Jaguars. Even when that team goes to the playoffs their fans won't show up.
I think the Raiders , I live in Southern California and when the sorry Raiders win a game that is all people talk about they have their stupid flags out and wear the Raider gear but you cannot find one that can name the starting quarterback , but when the Raiders lose you do not see jack no flags or anything the only people wearing Raider gear are the stupid gangbangers !
I was waiting for someone to say Philly because they boo. The old standbye cliche. I've been to a bunch of NFL games around the league and I have heard booing at each game. Other teams do not like to go to Philly because of the crowd and it being a hostile environment. The new stadium not so much, but the Vet was downright nasty. Quite a few opposing team players have made comments that they wished their fans were more like Philly fans. When you get paid that much money and act like a moron on the field the person who just paid probably a couple of hundred bucks for a seat can boo. Philly fans back their team like no other.

Least loyal, I might say the Dolphins. Who goes to their games. Didn't they lose a home game so it could be played over in England. Imagine another team trying to do that. If they tried to do that with the Eagles the fans would burn the stadium down.
To Barometer Soup, you haven't got a clue about us. Philly fans have bled green as long as the team has been around; and we've survived many horrible years.

We boo anyone or anything that doesn't appear to leave it all out on the field. We boo because even we know that Coach Reid passes too much. We boo because we understand the game.

We boo because we care.
least loyal...KC fans, dumbest fans=cheatriots
When Troy Aikman took over and the Cowboys won 1 game all season, fans disowned the team. Which is okay. They shouldn't have been rooting for them in the 1st place. Bandwagon jumpers all of 'em!
falcons

Hey KC Cheif I was at that game. I'm not sure you got your numbers right. However, since ticket scalping is legal in Indiana, TONS of ticket brokers have our season tix tied up and there isn't anything we do about it...and they'll sell to anyone. But generally Colts fans are loyal.

He was talking to the scalpers you prolly saw them on the street corners..prolly where you got your tickets... But I'll give KC a vote for most Loyal fans all the way. You guys are cool!

No doubt it was a ticket scalper that you got your tix from...but I'm glad you got to come and spend your money in Indy!
Bengals
New England because all of them are dirty bandwagoners!
Arizona Cardinals. Why? Not long ago, when they %26amp; Dallas were in the same division, when Dallas came to play there were more Cowboys-fans than Cardinals fans!!! Pathetic!!!!
HELLO EVERY ONE IF YOU AIN'T CHEATING YOU AINT TRYING AT LEAST NEW ENGLAND FANS ADMIT IT THATS LOYALTY .

Should NFL Players be fined for going to a funeral?

A member of the Vikings was fined $24k for attending a funeral and missing a game last week. I think its cr@p. How do you feel?

Should NFL Players be fined for going to a funeral?nba fantasy

Well...I feel badly for him that he suffered the death of a grandparent which is an awful thing to go through. However, I think the fine (which was probably a paycheck deduction) was appropriate:

1) I am sure that he had a contractual obligation to not miss any games.

2) The family could have scheduled the funeral for Monday if it was going to be a huge deal

3) I missed work when my grandfather died and I didn't get paid for it, and I count on the money I make everyday to survive and pay bills. I am sure his wallet wasn't hurt.

Should NFL Players be fined for going to a funeral?nba draft picks ,nba teams

I think if it was a "fine" then it is BS. But on the other hand, players are paid a VERY attractive salary (even at the league minimum) and they season is only 16 games. I think it is fair that a portion of the salary is withheld due to missing a game. Kind of like an unpaid leave of absence.
No, they should not. Think about if you parents died, and you were not allowed to go to their funeral. How would that make you feel?
I couldn't give less who you are; if someone you know dies, you have every right to go to his funeral and not get fined. The only questions I've got: Did he tell the coach about this, and was the guy actually going to the funeral of a person he knew.
I don't agreee with the fine. He went to his grandmothers funeral. The NFL should have a bereavement policy like the MLB. It probably does not because there are not a lot of games in the NFL season. Therefore, players are more obligated to attend every game.
he wasn't bothered by it. he didn't get fined as much as he just didn't get paid for that game check. when my grandmother died and I went to the funeral I didn't get paid for that day either.
I don't know if he should miss a game but that sucks to get a fine. He should of just moved the funeral o saturday or monday.
Why didn't the family think of the grandson and schedule it for Saturday or Monday. They're the ones who weren't thinking.

The gamecheck is probably more than the fine. Maybe they gave him a gamecheck and deducted the fine from it.
The NFL has got to be the only business that can get away with that. I wouldn't appeal to the league, I would sue in a court of law. It can't be legal regardless of what the contract says. You might even claim that being fined for attending a funeral is tantamount to religious oppression. I guarantee the NFL will forget about the fine.
I agree that it is not right, but was it a close family member? It must have been something in the way his contract was written.
Don't know the whole story. If it was someone very close to him, then a fine is wrong. Need to read more details.
I agree with you, - it would depend on his contract. I guess it was important enough to him to go and pay the fine.
If the funeral was on a yacht with strippers...Yes.
yes he should. he should know that the vikings come first, second, and third. they are paid to be somewhere on sunday....and in the cemetary is not it. in fact, the vikings probably think "hey! that dude isn't going anywhere.... go AFTER the season"
It is so B.S. this guy lost his grandmother and has to give the Vikings 24k?? this is rediculous and he should appeal this.
he gets paid millions of dollars to play football, not miss games.
It is crap...All the NFL's rules about "proper behavior" and "morality clauses" in contracts....Paying your respects to a human being after they have passed sets a very GOOD example, then you turn around and fine him.....Shame on them!!!

This should have been handled much better and alot quieter, I understand he is paid to do a job, and he failed to do so, but let's get things into perspective.........
That is awful....

No, that's still correct -- Wed. 5 p.m. The newspaper in your hometown sucks if they don't put it in the sports section. Plus, you have coaches like the Patriots coach (Bill the cheater) who aren't always honest with who's hurt and who isn't, so you can't believe everything you read.
