My guess is not even a little bit.

Their teams will still sell tickets, the players will still get paid and everyone will still think they care what we think.

Until it impacts their bottom line, they'll never really care what anybody here or anywhere else thinks abou them or their team.

Remember - Football is sports + entertainment + business

I would disagree with you to a point. While you last point of sport/entertainment/business is valid. There are some points on which fans have an impact.

While players do not pay attention to what we are saying . They need our support for sports writers to play attention to them. So maybe if they good enough player they might gain entry into the Hall of fame.

Teams and owners pay more attention to fans. Not every comment to comes from every brain or idiot out here. However as a collective group they need our support. If they didn't coaches like Cam Camren would get more time to turn things around. Face it we buy more team stuff when they are winners. They also need our support when they go to state or city for funding for a stadium. Politicians look to see opinion of us before voting for stadiums.

So I think we are heard to a point.

I agree with you. They only care what we think if ticket sales or merchandise sales start to wane. Otherwise, no.
I agree - it's business, marketing, ginning up 'community support' and all that.

fir instance, Dallas gets more notice BECAUSE of T.O., and not just because he's a better than average (if just) receiver.

I think it's about time to start noticing the local activity - college, that sort of thing.
Well its not like they go on Yahoo Answers every night and look for dirt on themselves. If you listen to their interviews and press confrences, they say that they try not to read the papers or watch ESPN or buy into any stories going around. Now, I dont know how much of that is true, its probably pretty hard not to watch Sportscenter every once in a while and its defintiley harder not to pick up the Sports page at all.

They like the people doubting them and they like the "us against the world" mentality. Every athlete does.

But, it is competition, and all players want to win. I know Philip Rivers cared what those Colt fans were saying to him last week. Its not like they lose all interest in our matters. Believe me, they care, but they dont take it that seriously.

Bottom line is, theyre making millions playing the game they love, and it doesnt matter what people like us say. NFL players have been brought up since thier days as heralded High School players to focus on the game and thier team, not on what people like us say. Theyre grown men, so its not like they feel bad when somebody jabs at them.
I think they care. I think that everyone wants to be loved and noone is gonna be able to completely ignore the complete idiot thats bad mouthing you. Now as far as them looking on yahoo answers and chat rooms and things, I don't think that they will go out of their way to do that, but I think they care just the same. But I do not think they will let it effect their play if they do care though.
As long as the home games are sold out they dont care.

With the TV contracts, where even losers turn a profit? Uhhh, generally no, but some owners take losing personally and do care I think. Al Davis doesn't care, all he is concerned about these days is making sure his undocumented immigrant caregiver is ready to change his Depends when that "moment" arrives.
I think the players should have concern what the fans think, because if there are no fans, then there is no NFL. The only way they will get payed is if fans pay for tickets to games, purchase NFL merchandise, watch games on tv, etc. Players respect what their fans think of them. Owners should feel the same way.

I don't know.. cause many NFL players have gone through image building processes Some of them even hire PR to do the work for them. So, I don't know if they are really genuine sincere about fans As for NFL owners I think they do care more about our wallet than our feeling..
Well they build huge azz stadiums for us to watch the games in, I'd assume someone does. Like you said it's a business. If we wanted Brett Favre's face on toilet paper to whip my azz with, I bet they'd get it and make some money. So yeah they kind of do.
